I like understanding how things work. And trying to make them work a little better.

Sometimes a question leads to a small tool. Sometimes it becomes a reusable solution, or a game. Here are three ways of giving the same curiosity a practical form.

Tools. Fewer steps, more independence.

A PDF that is too large. Text that needs cleaning up. A table that needs splitting into smaller lists.

These are simple tasks, until they become work you repeat every day. The Tools grow out of needs like these: doing one specific thing in a few steps, without having to put together a process each time.

You can use them on their own or connect them. The file produced by one tool can become the starting point for another: Tool Flows offers a few examples.

Kit. A solution can have more than one life.

Some things work better when they can become part of another project.

The Kit section collects plugins, snippets and website components: solutions to practical problems, made available for reuse. A way to share the pieces I build with, as well as the finished result.

Each resource has its own context, instructions and limitations. The aim is to help you understand when it might be useful and how to bring it into your work.

Games. Taking curiosity seriously.

I also enjoy building things that people use simply for the pleasure of using them.

A game puts rules and interfaces to a very direct test. You need to understand what to do, get clear feedback and keep going without getting tangled up in the controls. The same care matters when designing a tool for work.

Games offer another space to explore these questions. You can simply play, or look at how a set of rules becomes an experience.

The thread that connects them.

Observe, simplify, try things out. Leave something that can be useful to someone else.

In the stories, I describe problems, choices and connections. Here you can find another side of the same work: tools to use, components to reuse and ideas to interact with.
