PDF Export Queue for InDesign
Export multiple PDF versions of the same InDesign document in one operation. Each output can have its own preset, page range, layers and filename.
Requires desktop Adobe InDesign. This is not a browser-based tool.
JSX file · runs inside Adobe InDesign · free · Version 1.1 · 28 October 2026
What it does
- Queue multiple PDF exports from the same InDesign document.
- Choose presets, pages and layers for each PDF.
- Set a name for each PDF and one shared output folder relative to the INDD file.
- Overwrite existing PDFs or add a suffix automatically.
- Copy, edit and reuse the text-based queue configuration.
How to install
- Download the .jsx file.
- In InDesign, open Window → Utilities → Scripts.
- Use the Scripts panel to open the User scripts folder and copy the .jsx file there.
- Open a saved INDD document and double-click the script to launch it.
Example queue
Line one sets the output folder relative to the INDD file and the duplicate policy. Each subsequent line defines one PDF: preset | pages | layers | name.

The script reads the presets and layers available in the current document. Preset and layer names must match exactly: adapt the example names to your installation. Using * for layers preserves their original visibility; non-printing layers remain non-printing. The script interface is in Italian. This is an initial release: test it on a copy before production use.
